Consultation & Research
Helping us train up local people to understand design process and regain agency, working with the assistance of Architects to deeply engage with community members to ensure design comes from the grass roots, at the same time growing Local Design Experts who'll forever be able to have a say in how things are built in their community.
Identify local construction materials and employment opportunities and make them happen.
Development of a community-led evaluation process of design, construction and performance of houses to iteratively improve homes with each new one built, training and employing local people so the control always stays in the community

Wilya Janta Aboriginal Corporation
We are not government funded and we have operating costs including wages, travel, office space and so on. Eventually we'll stand on our own two feet with consulting work (be gone with the big city consultants, we know better!) but donations will help us get there.
We are looking for funding to work with registered training organisations to develop training pathways for Local Design Experts and Local Evaluation Experts who will be empowered to drive the housing agenda locally.
Donations will enable Wilya Janta to develop resources and share their processes of community engagement in design and construction to other remote communities who like what they see.

Construction
Engage and develop local employment in materials and construction opportunities with the community - for our pilot, donations will help in providing employment to make mud bricks using the old machine we've had re-built.
Work with industry partners to develop cost effective and scalable construction processes and methods.
Assist in travel, accommodation and employment for Wumpurrarni people to travel to our modular construction partners' factory and participate in the build.
